The business is run primarily by Ellie, who handles 3D design, silicone pouring, packing, shipping and social media, with support from her partner for heavy workshop tasks and in-person events.
The brand began with first prototypes in 2020, opened its first store on an external platform at the start of 2021, and moved to its own webstore in 2024. Its official range grew from 12 fantasy toy models in 2024 to a custom-made catalogue that now includes 19 product types.
TopNotchDongs works across fantasy dildos, grinders, kegel eggs, strokers, flexible handcuffs, impact-play pieces, squishies and merch. Material safety is central to the brand’s setup. TopNotchDongs uses Smooth-On Ecoflex, Dragon Skin and Near Clear platinum-cure silicone, with cosmetic pigments, mica, silicone dyes and non-toxic glow powders used for colour effects. Toys are degassed, cured, washed with antibacterial soap, air-dried and packed in heat-sealed bags.
Customisation gives the range its bite. Buyers can choose size, colour style, up to three custom colours, surprise colours and firmness. The main firmness options are Supersoft Shore 00-20 for strokers, Soft & Squishy Shore 00-30, Medium Soft Shore 00-50 and Medium Firm Shore 10A.
